Administrator

Mrs. Nees is the school’s Administrator, and she has been on staff at Heritage for seventeen years.  She has taught kindergarten, worked as our Director of Admissions, and has been the full time administrator for eight years.  She and her husband hosted the first organizational meeting for Heritage in their kitchen.  Her passion for Christian education is contagious.

Preschool and PreKindergarten

Mrs. Schadel is in her sixth year of teaching preschool and prekindergarten at HCS.  God brought her to our school to start up our preschool/pre-K program.  Her 20+ years of teaching experience has been a blessing to our school and her students.  She enjoys teaching at a Christian school where she is able to integrate her faith into her classroom teaching.

Elementary

Mrs. Hensley is in her eighth year of teaching kindergarten at HCS.  Mrs. Hensley enjoys seeing the kindergartners grow throughout the year.  Many of them begin the school year with just a basic understanding of the alphabet, and at the end the year they are reading books.  Mrs. Hensley's enthusiasm inspires her students to grow spiritually, academically, and responsibly.

Mrs. Ellinger has blessed our school longer than any other teacher we have on staff--she has taught first grade at Heritage for fifteen years.  Her love for the Lord serves as an example to the students in both academic and spiritual areas.  She and her students laugh a lot together, pray a lot together, and learn a lot in the process.

Mrs. Vogel joined our staff last year and is teaching 2nd grade.  She is enthusiastic and well organized.  She loves to see her students grow academically and spiritually.  Her husband is the youth pastor at Grace Evengelical Free Chuch in Davenport.
Mrs. Danielsen teaches a combined 3rd and 4th grade class for the sixth year.  She has been teaching at Heritage for eight years--two of the years were teaching 3rd grade alone.  She has also served our school in the past as a PE teacher and a teacher's aid.  Her enthusiasm and creativity get students excited about learning.  She has taught math facts while having the students jump rope and even spent the night on the modular’s roof as a reward for her class reading 1000 books during the year.

Ms. Dayton has taught at Heritage for ten years.  She has taught at various grade levels from 3rd to 6th grade.  For the last two years, she has taught the combined 5th and 6th grade class.  Ms. Dayton loves science and creativity and incorporates fun ideas into each of the day's subjects.

Junior & Senior High

Mrs. Hoover is in her fourth year of teaching at Heritage.  She teaches Jr/Sr High English/Literature, Jr/Sr High World History, Sr High Psychology, Sr High Economics, and 6th grade math.  Literature and History are her favorite subjects because they both reveal aspects of our human nature.  She enjoys reading and writing, and she loves to see the creativity in her students’ discussion and writing.

Mr. Hoag has taught Jr/Sr High math at Heritage for eight years, and has taught science for six.  He has also taught PE for eight years.  In addition, Mr. Hoag serves as Heritage's Athletic Director.  He has a passion for teaching students and helping them learn more about the Lord working in their lives.
